Dog Friendly Autumn Day Out in Kent

I love being able to go out for the day without worrying that I need to get back for my dachshund, or without the stress of having to find someone to dog sit for the day. I also love a seasonal activity, especially in autumn. Autumn is such a wonderful season, with the air starting to turn crisp, fresh morning air and leaves starting to turn to golden shades of red, orange and brown.

We have been going to Felderland PYO Farm in Kent, UK for a few years now, having first discovered pick your own fruit during the summer of 2020 when outdoor activities started to open back up after the first lockdown. They offer a variety of different seasonal produce across the months of May to October each year, with everything from strawberries, cherries, plums, apples, sunflowers and now we have reached autumn, the wonderful pumpkins available to pick your own.

We were even happier to discover that they are dog friendly, with dogs on short leads permitted.

This year was our third year visiting their PYO Pumpkin Patch (open for a limited number of days each autumn), bringing our dachshund along for the fun. If you love autumn and enjoy outdoor activities, you are likely to love this. Picture fields with thousands of different coloured pumpkins and squash for picking, straw bales, hot food and drink stands, and a play area for the kids, this is a family-friendly and dog-friendly day out in Kent that you won’t want to miss.

Tickets must be pre-booked in advance through the website costing £2 per adult and £1 per child (aged 3-12, under 3s go free), with limited slots available. Pumpkins cost extra, paid on exit, but prices are very reasonable, with a selection of 6-7 pumpkins and squash in different sizes costing me around £16.
